Nexter takes part in the inauguration of the new Draguignan Artillery museum

logoMusee de lartillerie 2After several months of refurbishment and modernization work, the new Draguignan Artillery museum was inaugurated on the occasion of the Wagram commemorations on Wednesday July 3, in particular in the presence of General Ract-Madoux, Chief of Staff of the French Army, and Olivier Audibert-Troin, member of parliament for the Var department and a member of the French National Assembly’s Defense Commission. As a long-standing partner of the museum and the leading player in the artillery sector, the Nexter Group was also represented by its President, Philippe Burtin, and General Jacques Grenier, the Group’s military consultant.

Following the extension of the site from 1,800m2 to more than 2,500m2, and with a reworked museography, the new museum will be able to exhibit a larger and better presented collection. Access has also been improved, in particular for visitors suffering from reduced mobility. The museum can now be accessed directly from the Avenue de la Grande Armée along a 100m-long walkway.

This support confirms Nexter’s commitment to the French artillery community and its historical heritage, and to the land-based army in general.
