RESANU
MISSION
New use profiles require that military land
platforms:
• 
be rapidly deployable to distant theatres,
for which they must be air-transportable,
necessitating optimization of the weight of
current platforms,
• 
have functions adapted to the new
surveillance and protection missions,
necessitating greater power integration and
new operating modes.
To meet these needs, new electrical architecture concepts are under study with regard to energy
sources (batteries, APUs, etc.), embedded transmission networks (centralized, distributed) and
actuators.
RESANU is a new electrical power distribution network topology. It is a monitored and
reconfigurable modular generic network. It is based on SSPC* technologies enabling new modes
of use, availability and supervision of the electrical energy flowing in both directions.
The use of RESANU for power distribution on land platforms provides configuration flexibility,
increased reliability, weight reduction and cost reduction.
It uses the CIMAD** concept and a secure CAN bus, for subscriber management (sources and
loads).
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
28VDC low-voltage network up to 1,000A, able to manage up to 256 subscribers on
8 distribution nodes. It uses SSPC technology for power management and distribution
It is compatible with embedded network standards: MIL STD 704 and MIL STD 1275
APPLICATIONS
The RESANU concept was assessed initially in 2010 on the basis of a 3-nodes ring network.
This first assessment confirmed the suitability of the static switching technology developed by
Nexter Electronics for meeting the distribution needs considered in current or future platforms.
